What does it mean?

You've been thinking about somone. Somone you haven't heard from in weeks, months or even years, and within a short period of time you receive some kind of communication from them. Twice I received letters from a woman I had worked with years before within a day of thinking about her for the first time in a long period of time. The second instance I even stopped in front of the mailbox and had the idea that there was going to be a letter from her because it had already happened once and sure enough, there was a letter in the box. My question is obvious. What is this phenomenon that boils down to a "Strange Case Of Uncanny Timing"?

Is it God? Is it the Universe? Entanglement? Are our brains Quantum computers? Is it the "Law of Attraction"?, or is it all nothing more than a coincidence? Carl Jung called it synchronicity and it happens all the time. Does it happen to you? It happens to me and I find myself wondering "What does it mean?". Decide for yourself as you follow my diary of another "Strange Case Of Uncanny Timing", also known as a S.C.O.U.T!

May 31, 2010 (Memorial Day) - A mega mansion for Gwen!

Background -   I was running on the treadmill in an attempt to get ahead of all of the barbque I was planning to eat, and the TODAY show was running a story on the real estate market in Las Vegas (this is a big day for running). Apparently there is a glut of mega mansions on the market because the owners have gone bankrupt. The agents have come up with a “gimmick” to try and sell some of these estates by flying potential clients into Las Vegas on private jets, then picking them up at the airport in luxury limosines and comfortably carting them around for a mansion tour. What’s not to like?!!
I couldn’t actually hear the report because the treadmill was too loud, but was able to piece together enough from the bottom tag lines to understand what was going on. They profiled an older woman that they had flown in from California and who was apparently a “tire empire” heiress - possibly Goodyear? Although, by the looks of her lifestyle she’d had much more than just a good year. I found myself thinking “boy, would I like to be her for a day!”
S.C.O.U.T. -   I finished my run, slowed the treadmill to a walk and finished watching the report. I could see that this woman was particularly happy with one of the properties she had been shown because her and the real estate agent were all smiles. I turned off the treadmill and just as it went silent I was able to hear the very last line of the report,
“The real estate agent was very happy, and so was Gwen!”
I got that shiver down my spine when I heard my name end the report. Uncanny! I mean really, how many Gwen’s do you know?! I don’t see myself moving to Las Vegas to live in a mega mansion anytime soon, but maybe God, the universe and the “powers that be” were reminding me that anything’s possible! My goofy dog Scout says “forget it. Its way too hot and dry to live in Las Vegas. I’m a WATER dog remember?” We both know he hates the water, so give me a break will ya?
