What does it mean?

You've been thinking about somone. Somone you haven't heard from in weeks, months or even years, and within a short period of time you receive some kind of communication from them. Twice I received letters from a woman I had worked with years before within a day of thinking about her for the first time in a long period of time. The second instance I even stopped in front of the mailbox and had the idea that there was going to be a letter from her because it had already happened once and sure enough, there was a letter in the box. My question is obvious. What is this phenomenon that boils down to a "Strange Case Of Uncanny Timing"?

Is it God? Is it the Universe? Entanglement? Are our brains Quantum computers? Is it the "Law of Attraction"?, or is it all nothing more than a coincidence? Carl Jung called it synchronicity and it happens all the time. Does it happen to you? It happens to me and I find myself wondering "What does it mean?". Decide for yourself as you follow my diary of another "Strange Case Of Uncanny Timing", also known as a S.C.O.U.T!

September 30, 2010 - Nothing like a BONK on the head to get you moving!

Reader Contribution -  Sujatha Hampton told me that she had been struggling to get traction and find her zone with her second novel (first novel, “As It Was Written”, is an awesome read). She said that she is filled with fear and apprehension as she faced the task and struggled to find the courage to push on. She doesn’t check her horoscope regularly, but decided randomly to check it out this morning….

Libra (Sept 23 - Oct 23)- You’ll act in spite of your fear,
or perhaps because of it, by hurling headlong into the very
thing that causes you anxiety. You’ll prove to yourself that
there is nothing you can’t do.

She got a little chill down her spine at the message that seemed to be just for her, although she was well aware that horoscopes are designed for that very reason. Therefore, as she wasn’t convinced that it was anything special, she chuckled at the coincidence and moved on. She would need one more tap on the shoulder to believe that the “powers that be“ were indeed urging her on towards her goal. That tap came moments later.  As she fed her daughter breakfast, her eyes settle on one comic strip, and one comic strip only.

Two squirrels BONK a dog, who is sitting below them, on the head with a nut. The dog yells up to the mischievous pair “don’t you two have anything better to do?”.

One squirrel turns to the other and says “I could finish my novel”.

This message stunned her to the core and clinched it for her. I’m happy to tell you that Sujatha is now deep into her second novel and loving every minute of it! My goofy dog Scout says “Write, write, write! We await the finished product!”.

Thanks Sujatha for your uncanny story!!
